Kite, you're afraid of heights!

Kite, you're afraid of heights!
Am I right?
The flight and fight in the height,
And the lazy kite.
When I was a lad,
You pulled me through the streets,
With your strings, wings, and tail,
Slithering behind through the wind.
I tried hanging from the sky-high,
But you came crashing from the sky,
Bones shattered, skin torn—
While the laughing winds moved on.
Cello tape on your face,
Are the scars to embrace.
Fear no height, my fearless kite,
For envious winds shall lift your flight.
I will join you against the wind,
Striding forward, leaving you behind.
Thread rolls dance upon the floor,
As you rise, your string in tow.
Kite, are you not afraid of heights?
With courage to fight,
We soar on broken wings—
Me and my kite in the endless sky.
